Hunter Hendrickson
Born in Dallas, Texas, Hunter Hendrickson is a 16-year old dynamic and emerging blues musician. Hunter’s artistic and compelling intensity has led audiences to him that demand encores at venues across the Dallas/Fort Worth music scene.
Hunter received his first guitar as a gift from his parents at age 8 and was immediately captivated by the sound of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Lenny”. As a talented musician, Hendrickson lives the music and delivers it straight from the heart revealing his purist style. His strong improvisational abilities and solid musicianship is what would be expected of an older more seasoned instrumentalist. “I firmly believe the Blues is neither a genre, nor a song format but transcends into a lifestyle and an enduring state of mind,” says Hunter. Influenced and studied in all genres and eras of musical styles, Hunter soon discovered that all roads lead back to the Blues.
Hunter’s philanthropic commitment to community service is exampled by his orchestration and promotion of a recent concert to raise money for the band department’s purchase of new instruments for students. He also volunteers with the Blue Shoe Project whose mission is educating the coming generations on the importance of Blues music.
Hunter Hendrickson is in demand as a Blues and Rock performer playing in Dallas/Fort Worth music venues and continues to collaborate with accomplished guitarist Kenny Withrow of Edie Brickell & The New Bohemians. Hunter has also studied at The Berklee College of Music and was recently awarded a Special Citation for Outstanding Musicianship at the 31st Annual Texas Christian University Jazz Festival.
Hunter’s rig is a TR Custom Reverb Sig with TR SD 2 X 12 cab.
