Born in the UK and raised in St. Kitts, West Indies, Thaddeus Hogarth is an Associate Professor of Guitar at Boston's famed Berklee College of Music. He is a recording artist, singer-songwriter, jazz chromatic harmonica player on the Higher Ground label and a two time winner of the Independent Music Award for R&B/Blues (2001, 2006).

Thaddeus has released three studio cd's (When the Sun Goes Down, Trying to Believe, It Might as Well Be Now), one live-performance CD (Live at Bose) and one live-performance DVD and digital audio release, (Live at Bose II: The DVD). He is the author of the popular BerkleeMusic on-line Course,Funk-Rock R&B Soloing and the bestselling guitar instructional book:  Funk/R&B Guitar: Creative Solos Grooves and Sounds available from Hal Leonard/Berklee Press.

A frequent contributor to Guitar Player and Premier Guitar Magazines , Thaddeus also authors a popular Berklemusic blog site called The Quest for Good Guitar Tone on which he chronicles his tonal travels and features reviews of high quality, cutting edge guitar products. Thaddeus has performed at the Montreal Jazz Fest, Newport Jazz Fest at Saratoga, Boston Globe Jazz Festivals, and has shared the stage or bill with timeless and legendary funk/blues acts such as Tower of Power, Average White Band, Fred Wesley (James Brown), The Neville Brothers, James Montgomery and Johnny Winter, to name a few. The Thaddeus Hogarth Band was one of only 24 acts chosen to represent Bose in live music venues nationwide, showcasing Bose's revolutionary state-of-the-art live performance audio amplification technology, the L1 Personal Amplification System.

Thaddeus' CD's include collaboration with Grammy-nominated reggae artist, Sister Carol. His compositions, songs and voice have been heard on PBS, and MTV as well as in independent and full-length feature films.
